It is hard to believe it’s November and we’re in the cold months of the year. Please encourage your children to wear warm clothes and a coat. We have access to coats should you need one. Please see Mrs. Crenshaw or Mrs. Frederickson.
Winter months bring on the cold and flu season; please keep students home if they demonstrate flu like symptoms such as fever or incessant cough. If you’re unsure whether to keep your child at home, please check in with our district nurse, Mrs. Durfee.
In case of inclement weather, the school District is part of the regional alert system that sends notifications to both radio and television stations with the latest information regarding cancellations or delays. Families will also receive an alert through the TSD messenger and our phone app systems. Please upload the phone app if you haven’t already.
Lastly, the Touchet School District has reduced its bus routes from three to two due to retirement. We need your help! In the event that the district has to cancel a route, due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, we will send out notification that morning or as soon as we know, letting parents know of the cancellation. We are asking that families bring their children to school on a short-term basis. We are not anticipating route closures at this time; we just want parents to know our bussing situation.
If you have any questions and would like to discuss a plan should there be a route cancellation, please reach out to Mr. Elizondo, Mrs. Crenshaw, or Mrs. Godinez.
